East Safety Camera Unit announces summer short term deployment on A82 south of Crianlarich

16/06/2025
Due to an expected increase in motorcycle and tourist traffic this summer, the East Safety Camera Unit will commence a short term deployment of the safety camera van, on the A82 south of Crianlarich, on the week beginning 16 June 2025. The deployment will be periodically reviewed to assess whether further enforcement is required.
Police Scotland Safety Cameras aim is to reduce the number of people injured on our roads through targeted camera enforcement and improving driver and rider behaviour. Short term deployments allow the East Safety Camera Unit to respond to emerging issues and seasonal traffic patterns.
East Safety Camera Unit Manager, Michael Grant said “The A82 is a particularly popular route for both motorcyclists and tourists during the summer months and we encourage all road users to travel at a safe speed within the limit, so they can react to the road conditions and be aware of each other. Loss of control due to excessive speed for the conditions is a common factor in motorcycle collisions, and motorcyclists are particularly vulnerable as they have no protective shield from the impact of a collision. It is hoped that this short term deployment will be a reminder that the speed limit is in place to keep all road users safe.”
