Fixed Camera on A92 North Anderson Drive, Aberdeen to start enforcing.

The fixed Gatso camera on the A92 North Anderson Drive, Aberdeen is now live and speeding offences will be detected and progressed as from Friday 2nd August.

The location, which is positioned between Westburn Road and Ashgrove Road West will detect vehicles travelling towards the Haudigain roundabout and has been part of a core enforcement site for Police Scotland’s Safety Camera Unit for a number of years.

The introduction of the Gatso camera marks a change in enforcement type from a camera van to permanent fixed roadside camera. With the ability to be operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week it is hoped that the enhanced enforcement capability will lower speeds at the location.

Mark Patterson, Police Scotland Road Policing Chief Inspector said: “We are committed to working with our partners in order to influence driver and road user behaviour with the same aim of making our roads safer for all users. The introduction of a fixed camera on North Anderson Drive should remind drivers of the importance of always travelling within the speed limit and will ultimately result in improved speed limit compliance and a reduction in collisions.”
