East Safety Camera Unit announces summer short term deployments on A876 Clackmannanshire Bridge
06/07/2021
Safety Cameras Scotland has launched a summer staycation campaign to influence driver behaviour and encourage everyone to “stay within the speed limits this staycation”. Summer driving hazards such as the presence of more vulnerable road users will be highlighted, while also emphasising the penalties of driving above the speed limit, in a social media and direct marketing campaign.
Safety cameras aim to reduce the number of people killed or seriously injured by encouraging improved driver behaviour and speed limit compliance.
In conjunction with the staycation campaign, the East Safety Camera Unit will carry out three short term deployments on A876 Clackmannanshire Bridge, to coincide with major motorsport events taking place at Knockhill Racing Circuit, on the following dates:
10 and 11 July 2021
14 and 15 August 2021
2 and 3 October 2021
East Safety Camera Unit Manager, Michael Grant “Short term deployments allow us to respond to emerging issues or changes in traffic behaviour for a period of one month. In this case, it is expected that there will be a significant increase in motorists travelling to and from popular events at Knockhill. The short term deployments aim to encourage improved driver behaviour and compliance with the speed limit. We urge all drivers to know your limits and stay within them to keep all road users safe”.
